We translate aerial imagery into information

Aerial imagery is useful for viewing a building or area remotely. But what if you need information about thousands of properties, an entire municipality, or a whole country? Readar uses Remote Sensing and Machine Learning to extract information from aerial imagery on a large scale. Saving you many years of manual work.

Our data

What you can see in aerial imagery, we deliver as data. And more: we provide point clouds from aerial imagery, suspected asbestos roofs, presence of solar panels, change detection, building volumes, floor areas, and 3D roof and building models. All information can be linked to addresses. With this information, you can further enrich your own applications. Want to know more about the data we can provide? View our product sheet.

Coverage

All our data is available nationwide. Readar has the infrastructure to analyze many thousands of kilometers and licenses for nationwide aerial imagery. So you don't need to have your own image material in-house. Of course, it is possible to have us analyze your own aerial imagery if you prefer. See here for the possibilities per country.

Usage

You can request information about any object at any time via our API, useful if you want to validate online applications via your website, for example. If your application is a project, or if you prefer to host the data yourself, we can of course also provide you with a data dump in a file format and structure that fits your current workflow.

Methodology

First, we determine the required reliability together with you. Depending on this, we use a fully automatic approach, using remote sensing and machine learning, or a semi-automatic approach. For the semi-automatic approach, our algorithms select relevant objects, which are then manually checked by our taggers. Through our statistical underpinning, we can calculate in advance how many objects we need to check manually to achieve the desired reliability level.

Applications

Government: More than half of Dutch municipalities use Readar's data for one or more applications. We help these municipalities with inventorying and monitoring asbestos roofs, solar panels, and green roofs. In addition, our building information is used for annual WOZ valuations. Our change detection helps municipalities keep the BAG and BGT up to date.

Other users: In addition to local governments, our data is used in various industries for a wide variety of applications. Think of:

– Property insurers for premium calculations

– Installers for lead generation and quotes

– Banks for valuations

– Energy suppliers for marketing

– Grid operators for monitoring

Some end users use the data themselves, others use industry experts who have developed solutions for specific industries. If you don't have the knowledge or resources to use the data yourself, we are happy to connect you with experts who have worked with our data before. Readar has a large network in this and can advise you on the right expert for your industry.
